“I-I don’t think it’s been too l-long…” she fidgeted with the ruffles on her uniform. “I-I’m sorry we got separated, I-I’ll be more careful!”

How could she be so careless? This was an important mission! They were after Innocence, how could she get sidetracked? She’d have to remember to punish herself in some way once they got home…or find some way to make it up to Krory…

“W-wait! Th-there’s a Noah around here?!”

Now wasn’t the time to panic, now wasn’t the time to panic…now was /clearly/ the time to panic!

She stayed behind her comrade, pulling at her gloves. How was she even going to help with this?!

“Hurry up, dammit. I don’t have all day.” Tyki had moved through the houses until he was behind the Exorcists, and picked a small window that made it hard for the Exorcists to see him. He wanted a good view to watch the show.

So she hadn’t seen the Noah, but also hadn’t gotten to the Innocence yet. The last part was probably his fault, but it was hardly the time to be feeling guilty. There’d be time for that a-plenty later.

“The one from Edo,” he replied, fairly sure that it had been the same man. He had seconds to think now, but judging by the appearances of the approaching akuma, there were a couple of level threes alongside the level twos. Common sense might have told him somewhere at the back of his mind to run, but running would only succeed in confusing him even more.

“Can you protect yourself from a level three?” he asked over his shoulder as he crouched. He didn’t wait for an answer, though, and launched himself forward, practically throwing himself at a level two that had been forced to approach on the ground.

It had hardly noticed his sudden appearance, clinging to its side before he sank his fangs into its metallic shell and began to drink. As the other akuma came to a stop and turned, he pulled away from it and leapt back down the street they had come down, thinking to at least pull their attention away from Miranda. His body sang and nearly seemed to thrum with a sick excitement for battle, thrilled by the blood that now powered his every move.

With a sound bordering between a laugh and a snarl, he leapt again, this time up and forward to the underbelly of a flying level two, clinging to it tightly with his arms before biting into it once more as it thrashed.

Tyki watched the vampire attack the level twos and though the girl hung back at first, he know it would only be a matter of time before she had to help him. Sheer numbers would overwhelm the vampire if he fought by himself. 

Sure enough, after the Exorcist had jumped one of the level twos, he was flung off into a building by a level three that had come up next to him. The girl wrung her hands, obviously flustered, before running to where the vampire had fallen and activating her own Innocence. Finally. He watched as what appeared to be golden clocks flowed out of her wrist and formed a bubble around the vampire. The Akuma tried to get near it, but couldn’t. Tyki assumed the same thing would happen to him if he tried. After a second, the vampire walked out, completely unharmed.

So that’s what her power is…. It could be problematic for him, but at least he knew now. With that knowledge, it became pointless for them to fight the Akuma anymore. He didn’t care whether they could fight the level threes off, after all. He phased underground, walking toward where the Exorcists were. 

He stopped, picking this spot as a good spot to make his entrance. His blood started pumping faster at the thought of a fight. “Finally~ It’s taken long enough.” He began to rise up slowly, and it turned out he had picked the perfect spot in-between the Akuma and Exorcists. He relished the stunned looks on their faces. “Miss me?” He snapped his fingers, and the Akuma flew off.
